Expert Presenter: Jim Lunt, Managing Director, Jim Lunt & Associates LLC
Jim is a founding member of PLA; firstly at Cargill then Cargill Dow and subsequently NatureWorks LLC. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, he led the Product Development, Applications and Asia business development activities to commercialize polylactic acid (PLA) polymers. In 2002 he received the Presidential Green Chemistry Award for his contribution to the Natureworks PLA process.
Jim also pioneered the development and commercialization of long glass fiber reinforced thermoplastics by bringing together diverse technologies of polymer coatings, glass fiber manufacture and polymer melt processing.
Dr. Lunt has co-authored numerous publications and has been an invited speaker at conferences worldwide. He is the co-inventor on more than 20 patents in various fields involving biopolymers, performance polymers and chemistry solutions in new and emerging applications.
